Summary: Our family of 4 really enjoyed our stay at Pillars. Being from Canada, we missed having air conditioning, but Edinburgh wasn't as hot as back home and the fan in the room worked well to cool the room at night with a cross-breeze from the open windows. The deep tub was a luxury after a long day walking up and down hills. The kitchen was clean and had a nice selection of equipment to use. It was lovely chatting with other guests in the common kitchen area. The neighbourhood was nice to walk around with a convenient Boots and Tesco, and transit was easy to get to. Occasionally we wished it was easier to pop back to the hotel from Old Town, but we the money we saved by staying outside the centre of town meant we had more to spend at all the locally owned pubs and coffee shops. We will stay there again on our next visit!
