Positive: I travel every week for work and have contracts all over the uk. I like to stay healthy so I also book a nice hotel with a gym/ spa and good breakfast. This was a work trip that I turned into a date with my partner that’s why we went for this hotel. For a nice quality time. At the last minute 24 hours before our stay we lost our baby sitter support for our two daughters who are 5 & 8. So I cancelled our romantic break and turned it into a family event upgrading our room to a suite and booking the safari park the following day. From the moment I changed our booking the lady on the phone was exceptional. So professional, warm kind and helpful. It was an easy process and very reasonable on cost of upgrade. The current cost was £160 ish with an upgrade of £70ish the moment we arrived we were taken in by the sheer beauty that was presented to us. This hotel was stunning. The reception lady was again outstanding. So welcoming and friendly. We quickly made the most of the last hour of family swim which was a lovely touch for the girls. Then we ate in the restaurant before going for a nice stroll and exploring the grounds. Every element of dealing with the staff and the facilities were exceptional. I have stayed in so many hotels on my travels and most of which spa hotels but the experience here was utterly amazing.
Negative: It is very difficult to comment on anything we didn’t like however but a couple of changes would have been the hotel room had a great double bed and a sofa bed. The double bed was great the room was great bud the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable even for a child. You could feel all the metal frame through it and the dip gave you a bad back. I actually let one of my daughters she the bed with my partner, my other daughter had a ruff night on the sofa bed and I slept on the hard floor with no cover. It was a terrible sleep as you can imagine but even that didn’t ruin what an incredible experience we had. The only other item was I was over charged for the upgrade. I was told £70 but they took £100 off my card. Well the receptionist took £150 off my card when we arrived. our food was £70 the room should have been £70 then they charged me an additional £25 on leaving. So I am assuming they got the room upgrade cost wrong but I had already left and not worth the fuss. My biggest complaint is the time here went to fast and I couldn’t stay for longer. But my work is in Birmingham so hopefully I’ll return again very soon.
Summary: The best hotel I have ever stayed in! The property and the staff were exceptional.
