Summary: I spent quite a while looking for the best combination of location, reviews, appearance, price and convenience and must confess to having been a little sceptical of the high scores I found at such a modest cost. But I found that they are totally justified. I received an upgrade on arrival and my hosts could not have been more helpful, giving me information about places worth visiting, local transport and options of where to eat etc. Walking into the house for the first time, it was clear what a nice place I'd entered. The room itself was meticulously presented each day, with an excellent eye for small details. I even had a view of Arthur's Seat out of the window. And if like me you go without a car, the bus services nearby are frequent and excellent. If you're considering Highfield Guest House for a stay, trust the recommendations, including mine.
