Large wooden grey gates swing open to reveal a wide gravel driveway, on your right is the owner's house, and in the foreground is Gras Lodge. It's surrounded by fields of asparagus, known locally as ‘gras' and offers views over to the hills of the Cotswold escarpment, which lie tantalisingly close on the horizon. Muntjac deer and foxes are often seen and woodpeckers can be spotted in the surrounding trees.
As you step through the front door, the clever use of space is evident with an L-shaped living, dining, and kitchen area, two bedrooms and a bathroom, accommodating four guests in comfort. Throughout the lodge, the colourful wall art, including a contemporary piece by a local artist, is a gentle reminder of the roots of the lodge and your hosts. The cosy living area has two comfy sofas and a Smart TV, there's a dining table to seat four and a well-equipped galley kitchen.
To one side of the lodge, a screened patio area features an outdoor sofa set with a two-seater sofa, two chairs, stools, and a table. A large, cantilevered parasol provides shade from the big skies on sunny days and there's a charcoal barbecue for cooking up a feast. It's a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Guests are also welcome to wander around the surrounding asparagus fields, and there is plenty of parking for up to four cars.

Ground Floor
Living / Dining Room:
The front door opens into the L-shaped living, dining, and kitchen area, a bright and welcoming space. Large windows to one side and double doors to the patio allow plenty of natural light and the wonderful use of colour creates a warm and cheerful place to relax. In the living area, you'll find a pair of two-seater sofas strewn with cushions, one grey and the other beautiful teal green. On the wall, there is a fabulous piece of original asparagus artwork by a local artist. For entertainment, there's a Smart TV, which you can log into with your own streaming services, and a Bluetooth speaker. By the front door, there is a useful coat rack with shoe storage. The dining area features an oval, wooden dining table, which seats four comfortably, the bright patchwork chairs reflecting the vibrant oranges, blues and yellows that feature in the décor throughout the lodge. The original wooden ceiling beams add a sense of character to the building.
Kitchen:
The galley-style kitchen is well-equipped with everything practical you need for a self-catering stay, including a dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and a full oven and gas hob. The window looks over the asparagus fields and glass houses to the rear.
Bedroom One:
This sunny room is decorated in gorgeous shades of yellow and grey, there's a king-size bed with grey bedside tables topped with reading lamps on either side. A four-drawer chest and a feature hanging rail, with wooden hangers, provide ample storage. There's also a full-length mirror and a large window looking out to the side of the property. A door leads to the bathroom.
Bedroom Two:
Twin beds (can be a super-king-size on request), have dark grey upholstered headboards and soft teal blue throws. A bedside table with two drawers and a reading lamp sits between the two beds and a large four-drawer chest provides space to unpack. As with bedroom one, there is a hanging rail with wooden hangers too. The window looks out to the front of Gras Lodge.
Bathroom / Shower Room:
This well-appointed bathroom features a P-shaped bath, with a shower over, a hand basin with a mirror above and WC. Jack and Jill doors mean the bathroom can be accessed from the main kitchen area and Bedroom One.Outside
To one side there is an enclosed patio area with a comfortable outdoor rattan sofa, two chairs and a table, there's also a charcoal barbecue. It's a sunny, breezy spot to sit and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. The lodge sits within an asparagus farm and guests are welcome to wander around the fields, which depending on the time of your visit may be filled with tiny emerald, green shoots or frothy ferns which sway in the wind. There is ample parking for up to four cars on the drive.
