Summary: This is our 3 or 4th visit to the Beechfield and we’ve returned because we love the building, pool and location. unfortunately we had a number of issues on this trip which can’t be overlooked. Staff on site were lovely but clearly stressed and struggling. No presence from the manager who was uncontactable. We arrived at 250pm but were told our room wouldn’t be ready for at least 40minutes. No complimentary drinks offered , no prior call or email to inform us (we would have arrived later). The bar had run out of lager. We stayed in the garden suite which has been recently refurbished but is in need of tlc. Shower curtain mouldy, toilet brush dirty, the toilet was coming away from the wall and leaking. There was a huge crack in the window which made it impossible to open. There was a wasps nest outside the window (it was dealt with within 24hrs) and plants in the small front garden all dead. The back garden overgrown with no loungers as advertised. Recycling in the room would have been good. Tea tray was budget. Breakfast outside is delightful but the selection was very limited. Upgrading cafeteria coffee to a flat white £5/coffee. After much effort we’ve been offered a partial refund . Our stay was now 11 days ago and this has yet to be actioned.
