The market town of Nuneaton is the nearest town to the exact centre of England so naturally the best place to stay to explore central England. The market still operates on Wednesdays and Fridays where you can discover and purchase fresh produce and an array of goods. Take a picnic to the public park in the town centre and simply watch the world go by or enjoy a leisurely walk along the tow paths of Coventry Canal. Being on the edge of the town, getting into the countryside is quick and easy where you can go for walks, play a round of golf, visit the nearby Arbury Estate with its George Eliot connections, take a trip to Hartshill Hayes Country Park which is a beautiful location with relaxing walks or experience the rolling vistas across the fields of Leicestershire to Bosworth Battlefield and Charnwood Forest.
The market town of Market Bosworth is nearby, with access to a wealth of excellent local facilities, many of which are set around the delightful market square in the centre of this historic small town. There is plenty to do in the area including a visit to the National Trust’s Baddesley Clinton, Ulverscroft Nature Reserve, Stoneywell, Packwood House and Calke Abbey all within 25 miles. A half an hour drive will take you to the indoor and outdoor adventure experiences at Conkers and Hicks Lodge, a great place to walk, cycle and spot some unique wildlife. Donington Park race circuit is 28 miles away and stages some great racing events, driving experiences and track days. The NEC which stages a host of exhibitions and events is 14 miles away. Other local towns and cities close by include Tamworth, Atherstone, Bedworth, Coventry, Birmingham and Coalville.
