Positive: Perfect place for staying at Ostia Lido. The apartment is quite spacious (90m²), 6 persons plus (3 fully equipped bathrooms) easily. The apartment covers the upper two floors on 4 story building is great, but the real highlight is clearly the large 140 m² terrace directly facing the sea, and also covering large portions around the apartment on both floors so that one can both enjoy the sun or the shade all day long. Spending time at the sea is great, and the apartment it is so close to the beach that you do not need to go to the beach to enjoy the seaside, the terrace is much better. And swimming in the sea (directly in front of the free beach) is just a couple steps away from the apartment. So totally hassle free. I've been walking the whole beachfront of Ostia. Did not see a single other apartment with such a terrace. Also did not see any apartment with a large table (6 chairs, could seat more) outside on the terrace - directly in front of the kitchen (stove, microwave, large fridge): very convenient, very nice. It does not have aircondition - but large ceiling ventilator and seaside breeze. Plus you can leave doors and windows pretty much open. (Mosquito windows), but during a week we had zero wasps and just one mosquito on the terrace. Very relaxing. Parking is easy outside (though I recommend not leaving stuff in the car as in any touristic place in Italy - again, here the apartment is great, lots of space to put your stuff and a very secure place since it has a large fence in the staircase. Public transportation also quite good (and pretty cheap). Also going to the airports Rome is easy and quick. Eliseo and Tatjana, the hosts were quite helpful and easy to reach by phone. I recommend checking out the icecream stand at Piazza Scipione Africano (like 50m), and get some Pizza from Girasole (Via Francesco Grenet, 22, like 100m), when you take a stroll at the seaside, also check out the marina - surprisingly nice restaurants and shops.
