Positive: On first inspection it's a great place! You get a lot for the money, and it's quite pleasant. Feels very homely and a short walk from the train station and some other restaurants. They provide a lot of items to use in the kitchen and a nice supply of tea/coffee. There's a lot of nice small details and stuff avaliable including games to play and a TV to watch in the evenings Good amount of space to work or relax. The washing machine and dryer combo were very useful! Lots of good information provided and loads of space.
Negative: There's two main cautions before/when booking here; 1) The place needs deep cleaning! For me, this wasn't an issue, but my partner had a bad allergic reaction to the place on the first night, which only got exasperated badly on the second night. Would reconmend the owners give the place a good deep clean or be weary booking if you have dog/cat/dust allergies. The towels and the dryer lint also needed cleaning. 2) The owner tried to hold our deposit because we washed the towels before we used them and because "we broke the toilet". We argued with her, and she said that she would only charge us a £10 admin fee, which we were happy with, and she returned the rest of the deposit. For a cheap place, I'm not fussed about the extra £10 fee, but maybe consider taking some photos/videos before you leave the place as proof. Also let her know if there's anything you don't like before check out.
Summary: Great place but not for allergy sufferers. Take photos!
