Positive: Wonderful, spacious, comfortable house with the most amicable host George. Traditional and authentic fully renovated house with a fully equipped kitchen full of amenities (dishwasher/ washing machine, a/c everywhere) and an excellent layout (2 large bedrooms upstairs with a charming balcony; living / dining rooms downstairs and an enormous kitchen plus a full bathroom) A charming large garden full of color and scent welcome you every morning and evening - peaches and orange trees accompany an arrangement of oleanders, four o'clocks, old growth roses and bougainvillea in the midst of tomatoes and grape vines all in the embrace of aloes and spearmints that keep insects at bay. A large outdoor dining area next to the kitchen completes your bliss. The village of livadochori, (right in the center of the island 20 mins to everything by car) is an amazing, quiet place and its people are very open-hearted and welcoming. In a five minute walk radius - a fruit stand, a outstanding coffee shop (wine/beer/snacks/sandwiches), a trendy fast casual Greek place (all are open till late) and a gas station. There is a small playground for kids next to the village church. The airport is very close by but very little traffic and no noise. There are small supermarkets with all essentials five mins away in nea koutali or agios ioannou. Closest beach is in kalithea / koutali like 5 mins away (shallow/warm water) with a few excellent tavernas by the marina. Location overall is strategic 20/25 mins to every other popular spot on the island but with no traffic and you depending on wind levels you can either be at your favourite kite spot or at a sheltered beach in no time. Could not wish for a better base from which to discover beautiful lemnos. George, our host, gave us tons of local advice and tips to make our time more pleasant and accommodate all requests. Thank you! We will be next year for sure.
