Positive: We chose La Belle Lurette as our base to visit Puy du Fou, which is about a 30–40 minute drive—very manageable. La Belle Lurette was great! The place is beautifully decorated, cosy, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. Pauline and Quentin were wonderful hosts—such a friendly and welcoming family who made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was delicious!! Pauline prepared amazing homemade cakes so we could try local recipes, along with a selection of honey and a variety of fruit juices. We were lucky with the weather and got to enjoy the garden and the swimming pool—super relaxing!
Negative: LBL is located in a peaceful, remote area—it was perfect for us seeking calm and quiet. While the surroundings are naturally quite dark at night, the entrance and parking area are very well lit, so arriving late is not a problem. Just note that shops, bakeries and restaurants aren’t within walking distance, but the nearest town is only a short drive away and offers several options.
