A lovely place to wander around soaking up the architecture, there are superb cafes and restaurants and a characterful old pub, The Golden Lion, where you can enjoy a local brew on the balcony overlooking the beach. Those wanting more energetic pursuits could stroll around to Port Gaverne beach for some wild swimming, coasteering or canoeing; or carry on hiking the coastal path as far as you like to appreciate the dramatic cliffs and coves of this part of the coast.
For a change of scenery, explore the north coast and hop in the car to nearby Polzeath or Trebarwith for surfable waves, or gentle Daymer Bay perfect for paddling with smaller children and lazy picnics on the beach.
