Positive: Good points: - Roomy apartment. Lots of space. Three big bedrooms. - Clean - Newly renovated - Close to Metro (but quite a few stops from the city center) - Relatively quiet location - Small but nice bathroom, with good shower - New kitchen
Negative: Lesser points, but not dealbreakers: - the apartment itself is newly renovated, but the whole of the building is in desperate need of an update/refreshment - The gate to enter the building/parking is broken and does not close by itself like it should. This meant the gate was almost always open. - the elevator stopped working on the first day of our five day stay and wasn't fixed (so we had to climb the stairs to the fourth floor). Of course this is not the fault of the owners, but it is a good example of the state of the building. - the furniture in the apartment is all brand new... that sounds like a good thing, but everything is cheap and of very low quality. The beds for instance are very hard (even if you like to sleep on a hard mattress). And the two sofa's in the living room are really uncomfortable. - The kitchen misses some basic things. - It would be very helpful if there was a welcoming manual with basic instructions on how to use the microwave, the induction plate in the kitchen, the TV, and so on. - The TV has Netflix and some other services, but we could not watch anything, because the accounts were locked. I guess you can link your own Netflix account, but that is something I rather not do. And we could of course have send a message to the owners to ask for a temporary code, but that seemed like a hassle to do every time you want to watch TV. Again: some kind of manual or instructions would have been nice. - Speaking of instructions: the owner forgot to send a message with basic instructions (where to leave the garbage for example and so on). So the first day(s) we felt like we were on our own to figure everything out. - Because the building is old you can hear the neighbours quite good. Luckily they were not very loud, but it is something to be aware of. - One last tip for the owners: maybe move the bed away from the window (in the bedroom next to the living room). I found my kid standing on the bed to close the shutters. Very unsafe.
