Summary: I thought it was strange when I got charged for the hotel the night before our stay. We were not able to tell the hotel ahead of time what time we were checking in, so there was no one there, was just a phone number on the door. I found a nearby business pursuit who kindly called the number and got the code to open the door. There was a key and a note waiting for us on the desk. On the note it said there was a WhatsApp number, but it didn’t say that on the door so that was frustrating. The next morning, when a person was there, she took our passports. The room was rather dark and there was even a picture frame on the wall with no picture in it! Also, just a warning that we took the train from Venice into Ravenna and there were no taxis. We took the public bus to the marina and not being sure where it would drop us off, probably got off the bus a little earlier than we had to walked the rest of the way.
