A detached luxury lodge with wood fired hot tub, set in a unique location on a 188-acre working deer farm, on the fringe of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs national Park, is perfect for a family celebration or group of friends. This quiet, rural location with it’s own private woodland, loch and grazing for the deer and other animals, as well as breath-taking views of the mountains, surrounding forest and countryside is perfect for nature lovers with deer, sheep, Shetland ponies, pine martins, wild birds and a loch, which is a haven for wild fowl and birds. You can even try fishing for wild brown trout (bring your own rod).
This detached lodge features an innovative design by a Swedish architect, radiating light and space and is finished to an excellent standard throughout. The lodge is set in fabulous woodland and is accessed by a track from the road. On the ground floor there is a separate bothy linked to the lodge by a covered walkway, with a king size bedroom, bathroom and open plan living area with a wood burner, double sofa bed, and a fitted kitchen, perfect if you want some quiet time away from the group.
On the ground floor in the main lodge is an open plan kitchen and bright spacious dining area with a wood burner and the 8 sets of patio doors leading out to the garden really bring the outside in. The kitchen is newly fitted and well equipped for preparing a family meal and the large dining table is perfect for the occasion. The living room is the focal point of the house, with floor to ceiling windows and spectacular views at any time of year, offering a lovely space for the whole party to gather, and on cooler days you can curl up in front of the stove and watch the snow on the mountains or watch the sun rise.
Here you are ideally located for outdoor activities with mountains to climb, cycle and mountain bike trails, water sports and golf courses. The popular tourist town of Callander is just over 5 minutes’ drive away and offers some great eateries and interesting shops. For days out Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow offer historic buildings, shopping, theatres and are all within driving distance. After spending the day exploring, The Lodge at Muir Estate is just the place to recuperate; soak in the wood-fired hot tub, take a glass of wine on the patio, or enjoy some al fresco dining with the large pizza oven and barbecue.. Ground Floor:

Bedroom 1: With bunk bed, single bed, French doors leading to patio and garden, with private shower room, toilet and heated towel rail.
Bedroom 2: With zip and link super kingsize bed (can be twin beds on request), patio doors leading to patio and garden, with private shower room, toilet and heated towel rail.
Bedroom 3: With zip and link super kingsize bed (can be twin beds on request), en-suite shower room, toilet and heated towel rail, and 2 patio doors leading to garden and patio.
First Floor
Living room: With wood burner and Smart TV with Sky (full package).
Bedroom 4: With zip and link super kingsize bed (can be twin beds on request) and en-suite with freestanding bath, large walk-in shower, toilet and heated towel rail.

The Bothy
All on one Ground Floor

Kitchen area: With electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee machine and washer/dryer
Bedroom 6: With kingsize bed.
Shower room: With walk-in shower and toilet.. Air source heat pump heating (underfloor), gas, electricity, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and logs for wood burners included. Welcome pack. Garden with patio, garden furniture, barbecue and pizza oven. Wood-fired hot tub for 10 (private). Private parking for 8 cars. No smoking. Access is via a rough track. There is a natural water supply from a borehole. Please note: There are slopes, banks and sudden drops in the grounds (shared with the owner).
Electric, Gas and Wood - electricity and gas is included in the rental price. A batch of dry seasoned hardwood and softwood is provided for the hot tub and the pizza oven, stored under the pizza oven. 1 bag of natural wax fire lighters is also provided. If more wood and fire lighters are required this is available to buy at cost price directly from the Estate. £25 for a barrow of soft wood and £18 for a bag of hard wood. Only dry hard wood is used for the pizza oven, and only natural fire lighters for the pizza oven. BBQ coal or kerosene fire lighters should only be used for the BBQ. If you use these for the pizza oven your pizza will taste of kerosene as will the pizza of future guests. Should it be discovered that kerosene lighters or BBQ coal has been used in the pizza oven a £200 damage fine will be applied. We don't want to have to do this so please just ask for more wood and we will happily ensure you get it. We want you to enjoy the outdoor cooking facilities.
Number of Guests - The maximum number of people entitled to stay at this property is 15 not including infants up to 18 months old, If more than 15 people are using the house, without permission, it will be considered a breach of contract and the party will be asked to leave without any refund. Sub-letting or assignation of the let is not permitted. No hen or stag parties are permitted, sorry. Pets - we are sorry but as the estate is a working deer farm pets are not permitted on the Estate. The deer are very jumpy and won’t like it.
The owner does have his own working collie dogs which are exceptionally trained.
Smoking - is not permitted inside the Lodge or the Bothy and if you do smoke outside the property and throughout the estate please don’t through your cigarette butts on the ground, take them back and put them in the bin.
Children must always be supervised. The ground on Muir Estate is very uneven in places with loose stones and old tree stumps, so when walking about the appropriate walking footwear is advised and wellington boots in the winter and wet months. We take no responsibility for damage to clothing, footwear or to yourself should trips and slips happen. You are coming to stay in a rural area of Scotland and should prepare yourselves appropriately. There is a 4 acre loch that does not have any supporting pontoons or entry points so swimming is not advised and you do so at your own risk. All areas of the estate are accessible except the commercial Christmas tree crop plantations and parks holding the farmed deer, unless accompanied, which are padlocked. The estate takes no liability for any loss or injury to persons or possessions anywhere on the estate.
Access is via a rough track, has slopes and banks and sudden drops.
When the Bothy is not booked the owners may stay overnight to tend to the animals. They will not use any of the facilities, these are solely for the guests and you shouldn't notice that they are there.
There is an unfenced loch and stream in the grounds. there is a natural water supply from a borehole so the water will not be 100% clear but has been tested.
