A single storey house situated just outside the delightful old roman town of Ponte de Lima, this stylish air-conditioned villa with its own swimming-pool, is set in one acre of farmland and gardens. The exterior is absolutely delightful and the breathtaking views of the Lima river valley and surrounding countryside have to be seen to be believed.
The villa is tastefully furnished to a high standard with air conditioning. The spacious living/dining room is both attractive and cosy, with large French doors opening onto a terrace and garden offering glorious views over the hills. The swimming pool is surrounded by a wooden deck sunbathing area while the spacious garden comprises a seating area, shower and a barbecue.
Whilst the property enjoys a rural setting, amenities are nevertheless close to hand. The nearest village centre with restaurants, bakery, cafe, bar, supermarket, etc is only 3,000 metres away.

Summary: The outside space of the house is excellent. A huge garden with beautiful view and a good swimming pool. The sun shades and the pool chairs make this area very comfortable. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. The coffee machine broke and they brought a new one next day. The living room sofa is very comfortable. However, there are a lot of details that it are missing entirely or not made clear in the house description, which can make the stay a bit frustrating. The internet is a 3G mobile modem, thus connection is unstable and slow, we were using our own mobile phone connection. The Wi-Fi covers only part of the house. The twin bedroom does not have air conditioning and its entry door is outside the main house, which might not be a good option if you have young children. The living/dining room table sits only 6 people, although there is a smaller table that you can put together. The same thing with the table by the pool. The dishwasher is very small for a house that accommodates 8 people and to efficient. We had to do a pre wash before putting the dishes on to make sure it would be properly clean and other things we had to wash by hand as they would not fit. There is no big knives for cooking and glass wines available were only 5 or 6. Only two dish clothes for crockery were available and no cloth to clean the sink. Although the beds are comfortable, pillows are also very small and thin. Towels were also small. Check out is at 10.00 AM and not negotiable and you have to take the bin out and leave the kitchen clean. Things that you normally find in short let rental houses: sugar, salt, oil, pepper and etc are not available. Considering the price of the rental, this negatives points should be addressed.
