Welcome to SandCastle Shores -Townhome located at the beautiful Sunrise Ridge Waterfront Resort in Parksville, BC on Vancouver Island. If you are looking for a romantic couples getaway, a snowbird retreat or a family friendly vacation you have found the perfect place. The newly constructed Residences are a modern contemporary 2 story designed townhouse development with a West Coast Vibe. Featuring 1200 sq ft 2 bedrooms 2.5 bathrooms an open concept living, dining , kitchen with all the amenities you will need for a comfortable stay.
The open concept main floor living room has a sofa bed that will sleep 2, a 50 inch TV and a cozy fireplace. We have provided an assortment of games, cards and puzzles for guest enjoyment. The dining area has a table with 4 chairs and an eating bar with 2 chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials you will need during your stay including stainless steel appliances, granite countertop with an eating bar for casual dining/entertaining, there is a dedicated workspace with a desk, a half bathroom and in suite laundry on the main floor.
The balcony, located off the living room has a barbecue with table and 4 chairs perfect to relax and enjoy a nice meal and take in the beauty of the natural surroundings the resort has to offer.
The townhome has an energy efficient heat pump to keep the temperature regulated for our guest stay all year long.
Upstairs the primary suite has a king size bed, dresser, closet and TV with peek a boo ocean view and an ensuite with soaker tub shower combination. The guest suite has a queen size bed, dresser, closet and TV with a shower in the ensuite.
Resort amenities include: A seasonal heated outdoor pool, all season hot tub, fitness facilities, a wood burning firepit area (subject to BC fire ban restrictions) and mountain bike rentals so you can explore the many trails that surround the resort/ Parksville area.
The private resort beach access is just a short walk from the townhome down a winding natural walking path on the scenic edge of Craig Bay. Please note it is only accessible during low tide. The final step to the beach is steep and rocky but well worth the walk as the beach area offers breathtaking views with miles of sand and tide pools to explore all day.
To make your beach experience more enjoyable we have included in the suite 4 beach chairs, a cooler, sand toys along with a sun shade and wagon.
There are several places to visit during your stay that are along Resort Drive close to the resort:
1)The popular Rathtrevor Provincial park and beach is a 3 minute drive from the resort. Take a walk through the majestic old growth forest and during low tide you can walk for miles on the sandy beach checking out the many tide pools with sea life and sea shells and you may even find a sand dollar.
2) Spoil your self at the Grotto Spa at Tigh-Na-Mara. Try the dip and dine it is 2 resorts over and a 5 minute walk from Sunrise Ridge.
3) For some family fun and entertainment visit Riptide Lagoon Mini Golf to see who can get a hole in one. It’s a couple minutes drive down the road from the resort. 4)The Parksville Community park is 10 minutes away and is home to the yearly sand sculpting event in July/August and has miles of sandy beaches including a large adventure playground and water park. It is the best place to watch spectacular sunsets.
5)A 20 minute drive from the resort will bring you to popular Coombs Country Market with world famous goats on the roof is a unique shopping experience with groceries, in store bakery, deli, gifts and cafe. There are several other shops to visit on site and the restaurant Cuckoo Trattoria and Pizzeria is a favourite spot to dine.
6)Visit the Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park it is 35 minutes from Parksville and offers guided tours of the caves.
7)Mount Washington ski resort and summer biking trails is only an hour drive from the resort.
