Positive: The property is beautifully renovated and the furnishings and fittings well chosen. The place has enormous potential and with some care from the property agents, could be a lovely holiday location. There are some great added touches, table tennis tables and games in the barn nearby, which is fun for children. The place has a peaceful atmosphere overall. The surrounding area is quite attractive but the village just average, with some slightly more run down properties nearby. If you are exploring the local museums, itโ€™s in a fairly good location - if youโ€™re prepared to drive. Any restaurants must be driven to, likewise for shops.
Negative: The internet and wifi, and therefore the television, are absolutely useless. The staff do basically nothing about it. There is minimal support from the agents who spend lots of time sending messages prior to your stay but then respond in a rather perfunctory fashion when you actually need something. The property was clean when we arrived, but possibly because it was newly renovated. The outbuildings were not so clean and some items (wash basket) had to be cleaned first to make them useable. If the internet had worked and if some other facilities had been more polished, the price would have been justified: but it just wasnโ€™t.
Summary: Lovely property but overpriced due to inadequate services.
