We are every bit a Sri Lankan family (Me, my husband, Romma and our 3 amazing kids) based predominantly in Colombo - and on occasion (not as often as we would like) make it to our properties in Ahangama and Trinco. So for those of you booking Ahangama House or Nilaveli House - please be informed that we are not based at either of these properties - but our respective caretakers will take good care of you.
We love to travel this Island, soaking in the diversity, exploring and winding down. We feel that the most amazing two things about sunny Sri Lanka is the variety of options for any traveller - all packed into this tiny little island, AND of course the Sri Lankan people.
We look forward to hosting you and more importantly helping you experience Sri Lanka as any country should be experienced - this is as we, the locals, do - a scenic and enchanting place that we feel blessed to call home - whether this means making you comfortable in our home or helping you plan for your travels around Sri Lanka.
For any of you who has a bit of spare time to read a little bit about ourselves - here goes. We have had the good fortune of travelling in many continents. I grew up hopping from country to country accompanying my dad, who served in the Sri Lankan Foreign Service and every time I did, I couldn't wait to come back home and watch through the shutters as our plane landed in the midst of lush green paddy fields and coconut trees, surrounded by pristine teal waters of the Indian Ocean.
My husband, an electrical engineer by training and a leisure traveller/ entrepreneur through experience, chose to come back home to live in Sri Lanka, after studying and working for over 8 years in USA and working extensively in the Asia Pacific Region.
