Summary: The room was okay but the heater temp was set to 80 degrees when I walked in. And it wasn't that cold out. I had to open the window and leave the door open for the room to cool off. The front desk was locked at 9 am when my key wouldn't work after stepping outside. I think I woke the attendant who then took my key after I told him it wasn't working. In his sleepiness, he did not understand that my key wasn't working and I wasn't checking out. I was leaving but I was in a room that required me to haul my things a little distance to my vehicle so it took a few trips. I am not sure why I couldn't stay in one of the many rooms that were empty and immediately faced the parking lot. It wasn't a real welcoming experience but I just needed to rest and then get home the next day. Had I been staying in Mitchell, I probably would have moved to another hotel.
