Summary: Marin Lodge is a pretty standard motel -- better than most, not as good as some. I'm not sure I understand all the folks who rated this property a 9.6, however, as it's nowhere near such a rating. There are several boutique 2-3 star properties in Marin that truly warrant a premium rating (and, to be fair, charge a much higher price); this isn't one of them. It's a standard motel, and I'd rate it probably 8.4. No real complaints, other than the giant spider in the shower (more like a mini-tarantula) and the constant speeding-traffic hum from the adjacent freeway (though you cannot see this thoroughfare due to trees, houses & a wall). If you're just looking for a low-cost convenient stay, I guess this fits the bill.
