Summary: Arrived late and found the key in the outside mailbox which was super handy so we could get to bed straight away without having to do a proper check-in. That said we originally went to #139 'hotel Hesse' as booked but saw a sign that said to go to #164 where our room was, so a bit confusing but not a big issue. Hotel nicely located in Blankenese with bus stops nearby. Decent breakfast. Sadly the hotel could do with some modernising and we thought it was expensive for what we got (our reason for choosing this hotel was to be very near friends and it was indeed a 10min walk away, but we could have spend the same amount of money for a nicer place).
