Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: I liked that the property was close to downtown St. Augustine are. We were in town for the Nights of Lights. I liked that they were renovating the rooms and our room was newly renovated.
Negative: I did not like that we were woken up at 5:00 AM on a Monday morning by a garbage truck. Our room was right above the dumpsters and all of the old furniture from the rooms were outside our windows. I was woken up to the loudest sounds and noise! At first I thought it had to be at least 8:00 and the blackout curtains were doing their job. I was shocked to see that it was 5:00 AM. I went to call the front desk, but I couldn’t because the phone was not connected. We had to go downstairs and complain. The person who was in charge was very apologetic. She says that that has not happened before. I feel like guests should not be placed right above a dumpster when active renovations are going on in a hotel.
Summary: Great stay until the last night.
