Positive: Casa Marie is a comfortable apartment located in a residential building (in a block of flats) right on the beachfront. The sea is only about 50 metres from the entrance, and the balcony offers a lovely view of the beach, the water and the molo. It was the first place we stayed at in Sicily where we felt truly warm and cosy during our December trip, unlike other accommodations that tended to be cold and damp. The apartment is very well equipped, featuring a fully fitted kitchen, a washing machine (one for dishes, and another for clothes), reliable Wi-Fi and other useful amenities. Guests can also access the rooftop, which offers a nice view and a pleasant spot for sunbathing. There are enjoyable, longer walks to take along the coastline. Even outside the main season, the bakery on the ground floor remains open, and just across the street you’ll find Don Pepinu, an excellent pastry shop with cannoli, ice cream and marzipan. A small grocery store is conveniently located - just diagonally across the crossroad. The hosts were very accommodating and kindly waited an extra hour for us at check-in, as we were delayed on the way.
Negative: A minor disadvantage may be the parking situation during the HIGH season. We have found the parking spots directly under the windows in the one-way street in December - no problem. But in summer is the street going to be quite full. As an alternative, there is a paid parking lot about 200 metres away, which can be used free of charge outside the main season.
