Travel Purpose: business

Positive: The house itself was fantastic; a new build with great finishes. The kitchen was great and they had a bunch of spices and cooking stuff already there which was great. Bedrooms and bathrooms were also great and location was good. The kitchen is fully functional, and we were able to cook dinner each night with the stuff that was there which was great. The living room, couches and kitchen table were very comfortable for our family and separate bathrooms for each bedroom was awesome. Not too far from Helen (we stopped and loved the town on our way up from ATL), and we did the Tallulah gorge one of the days which was a great experience. Downtown Clayton had a number of good restaurants and I really liked the "Wander" store in town.

Negative: On night 2/morning 3, we had freezing temperatures and the pipes froze, so as a family of 4 we had no running water in the house; we left to go about our day and the water was running when we got back in the afternoon. I contacted Vacasa at roughly 7:00 AM and didn't receive a call until close to 8:45 where the representative told me it was likely frozen pipes and we had to wait it out. Now - I realize mother nature is not controllable, but I would have suggested a few things: 1) This is a new build house, and for temps to drop in 1 night and the pipes to freeze that night is probably not great engineering for that house (the pipes freezing wasn't after a long number of sequential freezing days); 2) If this is a known issue, someone should have alerted us up front to run the water at the faucets overnight to keep the pipes from freezing.

Summary: Great house with modern finishes - be careful on days that are below freezing!
