Positive: The lady who met us and introduced us to the property was excellent. Very friendly and very helpful. Worth noting however that the fee for the sheets (which is extra) and the tourist tax had to be paid in cash on arrival. I was not expecting to pay this in cash and had to make a 20 minute journey to the nearest ATM. The location is excellent - we already knew Gordes well and this is just outside the village - a nice uphill stroll taking about 10 mins. This unit is one of many in a gated development and there are two parking areas. I liked that there weren’t cars near our gite although the people staying/living across the way did bring their car to their dwelling several times so it is not completely car free. The pool is a nice area although many of the sun loungers have seen better days and there is no shallow end for kids. We also found a general lack of tolerance from others using the pool to kids splashing in the pool. I consider this a normal thing for children to do.
Negative: This accommodation is basic. The beds were quite uncomfortable. There was no AC - we had a high of 33 but were told it had got to the 40s this summer. It would be difficult to stay in this gite with high temps. There are also no fans. There is little comfortable seating in the living space, really only a sofa bed which isn’t particularly comfortable. The garden also needs some care.
