Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The house and grounds are beautiful and kept maintained. The bed was comfortable and we slept well that night. The parking is good and secluded and right next to the house. The house has an interesting history but unfortunately ours was a quick overnight stop so we had little time to read its history. Our dog was made welcome and for a very reasonable additional cost (5 euro) it was the best value we have come across.
Negative: The room was comfortable but the house is very old and the bathroom quite dusty (ceilings). This didn't bother one of us but the other thought the cleaning could be improved. Also, and this seems common nowadays, there were far too many cushions on the bed, which invariably end up either on chairs or on the floor. A lack of restaurants within walking distance meant we had to drive. The recommended area nearest to us had no parking left at all - it was a lovely Friday evening so perhaps to be expected. We drove on towards Dinard where we found a creperie - not our choice at the seaside but it was all that we could find available.
Summary: The manor is an ideal overnight stop for the ferry crossing to Portsmouth.
